"Women forging dreams", Mujeres fraguando sueños, is a show with an ethic committed to a social reality that requires all our efforts to make a forceful denunciation and a sober reflection on domestic violence. It is a contemporary piece that keeps a distance to the complex elaborations exclusive to intellectuals.
Structured as a newsworthy story, the show leads to an atmosphere of high drama with moments of epic lyricism, close to Brechtian alienation, but also fraught with humor and irony. With various materials, many doubts and apparent contradictions, four women, two on the scene and two in the plastic design of the show, give their views on violence against women from a text by Pati Domenech. Domenech unveils 14 key moments of the lives of these women.
Flamenco dancing and acting interpretation come together in this mestizo production, provocative, seeking to transgress the reality by involving the spectator actively in its development, inhibiting their passivity and provide materials to induce a lucid discussion on domestic violence. The production ultimately is a multidisciplinary input committed to fight the violence against women.
